Top 5 Things NOT to Forget on Your Wedding Day

Let’s face it, getting married is stressful. There is a lot to remember even if you have someone like a planner or family member helping you. In between the cake and bridal dress decisions lie those tiny little items that you meant to take care of, but somehow just slipped your mind. Hey you can’t be expected to remember everything can you? That’s why we at The Pepin Mansion put together a top 5 list of items that we see our brides gloss over.

 

Transportation

So how are you getting to the church? How are you getting from the church to the reception location? Don’t forget one of the most important things on your wedding day; that you and your groom are actually present at the wedding and reception!

RR7Your wedding is one of the most significant days of your life, and you deserve to be the center of attention even before the main event kicks off. It just so happens that we can take care of this for you. At Royal Transportation of Louisville, we offer our Classic Chauffeured Wedding Car for use at your Pepin Event. You may rent by the hour,  or just for pictures or for transport. For your special day, the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud “IS” the iconic classic chauffeured limousine for you.  Arrive as a Princess and depart as a Queen whisked away to your honeymoon suite or to your private jet (that’s the vision anyway).

 

Proper and Adequate Chargers

When it comes time to get ready in your bridal suite at The Pepin Mansion on the day of the wedding, have your electronics charged and ready to go! If you’re planning on using your iPod for any part of the reception music (i.e. your favorite recording of the first dance you and your groom will sway to), make sure you have the right charger and the correct connection to your band’s or DJ’s sound system. Also, keep your phone charged overnight. You’ll want to have it ready to go as soon as you leave for the honeymoon and you will want a back up charger to take with you too.

Make it Legal

An important part of making it ‘official!’ Check with the jurisdiction where your ceremony will take place about any deadlines for applying for your marriage license well in advance of your wedding date and also whether a blood test or special documentation is required to complete your application. Rules/costs are different in Indiana vs Kentucky as well. Start gathering your documents early so that when it comes time to get your license, you have everything you need and can make the process as effortless as possible. Don’t make it hard on yourself and have to scramble for the marriage license at the last minute!

Assign a Helper to Gather Your Wedding “stuff”

Your gifts, mementos (think toasting flutes, cake topper, unity candle and guest book) and any leftover food. There may be alcohol or cake that may need a trusty escort to get them home.  Make sure to have appropriate storage like boxes or bubble wrap for fragile items. Choose a responsible person and let them know about their responsibility. and when you will be getting your items back. You may want to donate your centrepieces. There are several nursing homes and cemeteries around The Pepin Mansion that will accept flowers. Call at least a few days before the wedding to find out when someone can drop off the arrangements.

And Last but NOT Least..

Don’t forget to have FUN! We see some brides get so worked up over minor details that we feel they forget it is their wedding day. Making plans and having backup plans will help ease your stress when problems do arise. Just because something doesn’t go as your itinerary dictated doesn’t’ mean your special day is ruined. Rarely weddings go off “without a hitch” so don’t sweat the small stuff. Be in the moment and cherish your day of memories.

The story:

A ghost hunter has come to investigate tales of paranormal phenomena at the mansion. The legend is that four people each spent the night there but then were gone in the morning – disappeared without a trace. When the door to their room was opened, a black cat jumped off the bed, strode calmly down the hall and out the front door. There were no cats in residence at the time.

There are indeed four ghosts, each from a different time period. Three of them are reasonably benign, and presumably welcome to stay. One, however, is an evil spirit who must be outed as such and banished before he or she can wreak havoc and destruction. But which one???

It’s scary … it’s delightfully funny … and it’s a great evening’s entertainment!

20th Annual Doctors’ Ball Honors Physicians and Leaders

Thanks to all who attended the 20th Annual Doctor’s Ball last weekend for a chance at some great auction items. It was a night of honor as both physicians and leaders were recognized in their fields. The silent auction was quite a success as well. The Pepin Mansion and Royal Transportation of Louisville were proud to offer our night’s stay and royal transportation to dinner. The package went to the highest bidder for $600 and we are happy to have raised the money for such a worthy cause!

Steve and Cheri were high bid at the Silent Auction – At “CRAFT 15′ Louisville” to benefit Cystic Fibrosis this couple bid for the Package of “a night at The Pepin Mansion B&B in New Albany”, a dinner at “The Exchange Pub & Kitchen in New Albany” and our Rolls Royce to take them to and from their dinner! Total winning bid was $450!!Our Rolls Royce was on hand at the event.

While CRAFT began as a small group of people looking to do their part to cure cystic fibrosis, it has grown into one of the premier parties in the entire city.

About Cystic Fibrosis
About cystic fibrosis: Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. An estimated 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide) have CF. Although cystic fibrosis requires daily care, people with the condition are able to attend school and work, and have a better quality of life than in previous decades. With the help of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and donors like you, people with CF are able now live into their 20s and 30s, and some are living into their 40s and 50s.
